Welcome to MECHANIKA-2023

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee it is our great pleasure to announce that Kaunas University of Technology in cooperation with Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, IFToMM National Committee of Lithuania and Baltic Association of Mechanical Engineering cordially invite you to attend the 27th International Conference “Mechanika-2023”, the purpose of which is the discussion of a wide range of issues in the mechanical engineering and mechatronics. The 27th International Conference “Mechanika-2023” is scheduled for 26 May, 2023 (online).

We invite the representatives from the academia, research institutions, government and industry to present the latest scientific and technological research results as well as discuss current needs and future trends in R&D, addressing the issues of cooperation, the strategy and quality of undergraduate and postgraduate education in the field of mechanical engineering and mechatronics .

We look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones. We are doing our the best to let you feel pleasant and friendly atmosphere before, during and after the Conference.

Extended until May 13th, 2023 – Deadline for Camera-Ready Papers Submission (A link will be sent by email once the abstract is accepted.)

Extended Until May 21th, 2023 – Notification of Paper acceptance

After May 14th, 2023 – Late Registration (not valid for publication)

Conference is free of charge only Registration is required.

Oral presentations

Time for oral presentations will be 15 minutes including a five minutes discussion.

Poster presentation

The presentations for the “Poster session” must be sent to mechanic@ktu.lt till 23rd of May in PowerPoint format (numerous slides recommended as for oral 10 min presentation and there is no formal template).

All accepted and presented papers will be published in the proceedings of the 27th International Scientific Conference MECHANIKA 2023.

Antanas (Tony) Daugėla received his Dipl. Eng. in ME and Doctorate from Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania in 1990 and 1996, repectively.  He received his PhD in Mechanics and Metrology from Gifu University, Japan as a Japanese Government Scholar in 1997.  In 1997-98 he held a posdoc position at the Center for Magnetic Recording Research, University of California, San Diego, USA.  His research interests are in nanoscale metrology, data storage, acoustics, signal processing and deep learning.  Since 1999 he worked for the US hi-tech industry in the roles of R&D Sr. Staff Scientist/ Group leader/Engineer for Hysitron (5 years), Center for Tribology (2 years) and Seagate Technology (12 years) creating multiple award-winning commercial instruments and technologies.  In 2017 he became a President of Nanometronix  – nanometrology instrumentation startup.  Currently, he holds 8 US patents and 1 trade secret.  He presented his work at over 120 conferences worldwide and published 22 peer reviewed papers.  He chaired and organized multiple technical sessions at MRS, ISPS/ASME conferences and participated in development of the ISO standard on nano scratch. For the last 8 years he is an expert evaluator/moderator for the EU Advanced Research Project Agency.
